  daily routine ://   highly ritualistic — arrives at the daily planet before sunrise (typically 4:00AM), always through the service entrance to avoid heavy foot traffic at the front entrance; prepares coffee or tea and organizes workspace to get the day started, saving time to read the front page of the day's paper. works in near silence except occasional classical or jazz music; eats lunch early to avoid the lunch crowds, simply to use the breakroom microwave before anyone else can, leaving almost no trace behind; leaves late, or sometimes not at all, as the couch in their office has become a second home to them; keeps strict control over their routine because it's the only thing that feels stable; weekends are spent quietly at home, cleaning, reading, or catching up on unsorted documents & clippings.
  diet & nutrition ://   inconsistent though there is evidence of attempt to improve. drinks more tea than water. coffee makes them jittery, but they drink it anyway. most meals are microwaved, as they had their stove disconnected years ago as related to their pyrophobia.
